Se solo avessero aperto un libro, avrebbero saputo che Marin Drzic si firmava raguseo e non croato, poichè era un serbo originario di Kotor e Ragusa stava a 400 km dalla Croazia

The city of Dubrovnik in today's Croatia, with nearby settlements, had 11,177 inhabitants according to the 1890 census. The largest share was made up of Catholics - 10,327, 546 Orthodox, 221 Evangelical Christians, 79 Jews, two Mohammedans, one Uniate, and one resident with no religious affiliation.
When asked what language they speak at home, 9,713 people declared that it was Serbian, 716 Italian, 384 Hungarian, 285 German, 52 Czech, 19 Slovenian, 6 Polish and 2 Russian.
The "Dubrovnik" magazine was printed in Serbian Latin and dealt with literature, history, culture and politics, and was edited by Antun Fabris (1864-1904), a Serbian Catholic from Dubrovnik
